Virtual Voice Gala

The Chautauqua School of Music Voice Program, under the direction of Marlena Malas, presents a Gala evening of vocal performances. We celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the voice students during the incredibly challenging Summer of 2020 — their ingenuity, resilience, and creativity as they embraced remote art-making and music-making during the pandemic. The event will showcase the talents of these students as they perform selections from our remote productions of Xerxes and 110 in the Shade. We will also feature performances by some of our distinguished alumni, who carry the spirit and legacy of Chautauqua with them into opera houses around the world. All proceeds from the evening will go to fund our scholarship program to support our students, and continue to make Chautauqua a home for the brightest of young singers. Chautauqua Institution is a non-profit organization, dependent upon your support to fulfill its mission to explore the best of human values and the enrichment of life.
