Student Voice Recital

Julia O'Sullivan, soprano She is enrolled as a second-year Bachelor of Music Performance student at the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. Her concentration is Voice & Opera and currently studies Bonnie Hamilton. Past studies include four years attending Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division studying with Jane Olian, lessons with Marjorie Melnick at UMass Amherst, and Classical Singing & New York in June. Lydia Graham, soprano Lydia Grace Graham, soprano hailing from Danville, Kentucky, just finished her undergraduate degree at The Juilliard School where she will continue her studies this fall under Marlena Malas. This season at Juilliard, Lydia made her Lincoln Center solo debut in the Wednesdays at One: Vocal Arts recital series at Alice Tully Hall. She also sang the role of Blanche de la Force in a devised version of Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites as well as Lillian Russell in Virgil Thomson’s The Mother of Us All performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with the New York Philharmonic. Last summer, she made her Chautauqua Opera Company debut in John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles and was a soloist in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. Adam Catangui, tenor Adam knew he wanted to be an opera singer when the girl that sat next to him in class in 5th grade told him he sounded like a 30 year old man. Now a 14th grader, Adam studies at the Eastman School of Music, where he is continuing his love for music. Adam attended Chautauqua in 2019 where he sang the role of Matt in "The Fantasticks" and in Mikael Eliasen's recital, "To Spiro, With Love". Meredith Smietana, mezzo-soprano Meredith Smietana, mezzo soprano from Buffalo, New York. Meredith is a second year Master’s student at The Mannes School of Music. Previous roles include Orfeo (Orfeo Ed Euridice), Monitress (Suor Angelica), Alma March (Little Women) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas). She most recently sang the Alto solo in Handel’s Messiah. Meredith is a student of Amy Burton. Nathaniel Wilkens, bass-baritone He is a Baritone at Miami University where he studies voice with Dr. Alison Acord and performed the roles of Bob in Menotti’s "The Old Maid and The Thief", Guglielmo in "Cosi Fan Tutte" (with La Musica Lirica), and Mr. Gobineau in "The Medium." This coming year, he will be performing The Count in The Marriage of Figaro with the Miami University Opera Theater. He started taking voice lessons at 10 years old.
